GREEN WITH ENVY
If you've read my last blog post '2017 - The Year Of Colour Confidence' ( if you haven't, I suggest you make it your next top priority ) you will already be aware of Pantone releasing their 2017 Colour of the Year - Greenery. A vibrant, revitalising shade, that symbolises new beginnings, fresh starts and a year of boldness and brightness. Personally, I'm thrilled for green to be the hottest colour of this year, so much so...I've dedicated this blog post entirely to green interiors. Here's three ways to incorporate 2017's top colour into your home this summer!
1.THE ARMCHAIR.
So your a bit nervous with introducing green into your home, maybe you aren't too sure where to begin? what to change?...and hopefully your avoiding the standard green and brown combo seen far too often in others homes (green and brown went a long time ago...it's time to update folks!) Well, no panic needed. A really easy way to update an area within your home, especially the living area is by introducing a fun and quirky armchair. No, it does NOT have to match your original furniture and NO it does not have to fit with your current colour scheme. Be bold and daring, mix-match with contemporary and traditional - see if you can select a chair that represents your own personality!!! - Combine green with blush pink, subtle greys and neutrals...or if your feeling 'colour confident' this year, go wild with colour.
Unfortunately pinning this gorgeous chair to its manufacturer is proving pretty hard (*huff's loudly*), however click here to view another hot green armchair I'm loving this year!!!
2. SOFT DECORATION.
Cushions, throws, bedding and rugs, you name it...there all a great way to introduce this years top shade into your home, workplace or whatever it may be! Not only is it one of the most inexpensive changes to make, but it's a change that does not have to be permanent - great if your someone who follows the trends. Check below for a selection of carefully selected inspirational looks and pieces that may just inspire you guys how to 'go green' with soft furnishings.
3. ART & PRINTS.
When a space lacks colour, personality or just that finishing touch that you just can't place your finger on, it's usually down to the absence of art within a room. Sadly, adding forms of art to a room is usually the last thought when designing, if even thought of at all. However, doing so can be a great start to a design scheme, it provides an instant colour palette, a focal point for guests, a sense of texture and lastly, completes a room. Not all art has to be traditionally hung upon a wall - although wall hangings are great when there just isn't that much space...but if you're lucky enough to have plenty of floor space, place down the hammer and prepare as you create a 'care-free' gallery of 'leaning art'. The mantel, cabinet and shelves are just three places to lean your paintings, digital prints or prized photography. So with your new top tip in mind, here's some inspirational artwork to get you introducing green into your desired space this year...
