2017 - THE YEAR OF COLOUR CONFIDENCE
The year of 2016 saw Rose Quartz and Serenity paired as Pantone's first ever two Colours of the Year, a year of soft tones that, according to Pantone - encouraged 'mindfulness, rest and well-being'. But as we stride into the Summer of 2017 we seem to of entered a year of colour confidence. Ditching the previous trends of 2016, and embracing Pantone's new Colour of the Year, Greenery - 'a refreshing and revitalising shade', symbolic of new beginnings and fresh starts we have begun a trend like no other.
Say Hello to Colour Clash, its here...and staying.
Along with many other trends, matt black had its moment in 2016, however it appears it's time to say goodbye as we replace our black walls, kitchen appliances, soft furnishings and decorative objects with brighter and bolder shades this year. Adding colour into your home that reflects your personality is not only a great way to create a quirky, individual space but also enables your home to reflect both the characters and activities/lifestyles that your home harbours. If you're not feeling that confident just yet to splatter your walls in bright orange or neon green, then begin with soft furnishings, decorative objects or art work, all are pretty easy ( and maybe cheaper ) starting points to creating a brighter and bolder home that reflects the only person it needs to, you.

- A little tip, not too sure just what colour to start with?...the craze for blush pink last year has created an almost 'normalisation' for the colour to be used as a neutral rather than a statement shade. Pair this with emerald green and touches of brass for a trendy 2017 look.
